The surprising way that eyes make you better! 18/03/2020
Our eye stickers add instant personality to soap dispensers and driers, and could cheer up your cleaning – but more importantly these could actually improve handwashing compliance. There’s good scientific evidence that ‘eyes on sign’ are effective in making people behave better. Social scientists have found that we are more conscious of our actions, and therefore behave better, if we have the ‘feeling’ that we are being watched. We’ve put together a short summary of studies around how the phenomenon of ‘gaze detection’ and 'social compliance’ change behaviour. Read more here
This seems like an easy intervention to improve infection control – so we’ve produced a sheet of (wipeable, removable) vinyl stickers to try our eyes around your hand wash areas.
Visiting the Ventilation Unit at Aintree Hospital last week, we finally saw our designs in place.
It was fascinating creating a timeline for them, including the 'iron lung', which was created in the 1950's in Liverpool – always seemed like the stuff of nightmares!
Please get in touch if you think we can help brighten the walls of your department.
With a wallpaper background and images created using old photos, posters and postcards, we transformed bare rooms into a more therapeutic environment. This trial in five of Emergency Department cubicles at Southmead Hospital has proved so successful in calming patients and engaging carers, we’ve been commissioned to design further panels for the remaining 10 cubicles.
This time we’ve used paintings and prints generously donated by local artists. The artwork is produced as a single floor-to-ceiling washable vinyl to avoid any problems with infection control. They look like framed pictures on the wall, but are actually trompe-l'œil, creating the optical illusion that the depicted objects exist in three dimensions.
We've just had a couple of snaps of the large-format graphics we created for Aintree Hospital Critical Care Department – the second unit at Aintree we've worked for.
Gill was so excited to create something for Liverpool, her home town.

Having re-branded independent coffee roasters TwoDay a couple of years ago, we've been longing for them to re-do their interiors.
At last! The transformation is happening! They're happy (selling more than before), and we're happy (always fantastic to see your vision come to life).

Hot off the press! And yes, we know it's early but… We design and produce this artists calendar annually with the Calendar Co-Op, local artists submit their work and represent the different months.
Gills fave images include Adrian's page, (reminds her of a trip to Clevedon on our Vespas!) and some lovely images from Simon Tozer and Nick Gerolemou, among others.
